Need Improvement?
In response to the early morning posts in the Everett Herald on 10/25/09 (seeing as they would not allow this reasonably written post for unknown reasons, we decided to post on our website); both Mr. Larson and I are very educated as to the civic issues. Again, one of these issues was the proposed “Admissions Tax”. Now, in this article done by Mr. Bill Sheets, he states that this law is not in effect in Marysville, currently; but, YOUR current city government tried to sneak it into the budget so no one would notice. The Mayor of Marysville has also continued to receive raises from the Salary Commission, a Commission that HE appoints members to. Furthermore, the city has laid off four to five city employees AND continued to give their upper management/staff raises (just like those big companies our taxes have been bailing out. The working class gets stiffed while the rich keep getting richer!).

Mr. Larson and I are for taking a step back, looking at what is really important, what is really vital to the city and moving ahead. To obtain the voters trust, we got out and knocked on doors, and asked the people of Marysville what their issues were, I’m sorry we must have missed your home. This isn’t rhetoric. We did not even put up signs, as we felt we had galvanized a strong vote after seeing what the actual sentiment of the citizens was.
You ask for a plan, and here is our plan, again:
A. HELP SMALL BUSINESSES NOT JUST BIG BOX STORES AS THEY HAVE DONE WITH FINANCIAL INCENTIVES.
B. KEEP TAXES LOW, AND IF POSSIBLE, CUT TAXES BY CUTTING UNNECESSARY SPENDING AND RAISES.
C. LOOK OUT FOR THE ECONOMY AND OUR FAMILIES.
It is not conducive for either one of us to do an interview with a newspaper that has not endorsed us. Although we appreciate the listening skills and support of the North County Outlook, and the Marysville Globe Our time will be used to listen to the Citizens of Marysville, and their concerns. Let alone, I am not afraid to post my name when I post to a newspaper. That’s integrity for you! Thanks to all those Marysville Citizens that have supported us.
